Teenager saves the life of a handicapped woman from being hit by a train

Lilly Baker who is an 18 year old teenager who was walking across a train track in Giles County Tennessee on Monday February 5 when she saw a woman who was in a wheelchair trying to cross the train tracks when the warning bells starting to ring since a train was coming toward the crossing section of the road. Lilly knew since the train was coming fast, she had to act fast to pick up the elderly woman out of her wheelchair and get her away from being hit by a train with little time left. The train did strike the wheelchair of the elderly woman and did strike her legs as the train passed by. Both the elderly woman and Lilly lost their shoes when the train passed them by as well as the wheelchair/ The elderly woman suffered from injuries to her legs but she is expected to make a full recovery. Ardmore Tennessee Police Chief praised Lilly as a hero for her actions of saving the life of a stranger. Lilly insists even if she died trying to save the life of the elderly woman, she would die a hero. Lilly also insists that she was just doing what she feels was the right thing to do.
