I am so worried, my sister caught malária and things aren't good, she has been sick for week. The medicine the doctor gave her was very aggressive to her liver, stomach and kidneys She stopped taking it yesterday but this night she still had fever and she is yellow, even her eyes are yellow. The doctor told her that the yellow color is because of her liver and with time it will pass but we are worried about it. This morning she went to hospital to do blood work, hope her blood values are better. She is so far away from us, (Mozambique), it is awful because we cannot help her and she has two children at home (ages 7 and 3) that require a lot of work. If you can and if you believe, please say a prayer for her

@nela13 It seems that this year is horrible with the mosquitoes and where she lives is surely very hot now.

@LadyDuck yes, it is very hot and rains, the water that stays in the ground help to spread the mosquitoes.

She caught the worst variant and had to take medication intravenously, it was all very aggressive, the malaria and the medication.

I wonder if is possible for her to see another doctor? - that medication was probably too strong and still didn't do the job, instead it aggravated another condition. The yellow color sounds like jaundice, a liver condition, which could be caused by a number of things - including medicines.

Her blood work showed that she no longer has malaria, She is now suffering the effects of the medicines. Yes, the yellow color is due to the liver.

That is very bad news. I do hope she is on the mend now. It's awful when our loved ones are sick and so far away.
