Planting some herbs

Back when I lived at the house I had flower gardens, 2 raised vegetable beds, and like a dozen pots of herbs on the steps and patio. I very much miss having a garden. Soooo I have lots of potted plants here in the apartment. I have succulents, a pointsettia, hibiscus, geraniums, and other random house plants. I "break the law" and put the geraniums outside the door on the landing when the weather is warmer to make the entrance look prettier. I ordered a pack of 15 types of herb seeds. I'm planting basil, rosemary, sage, cilantro, garlic chives, mint, thyme, and chervil. I'm saving the parsley seeds as I already have some of that growing. I'm tossing the fennel and anise seeds because I have no interest in eating those. I also have a pack of wildflower seeds. (cosmos) I'm going to plant them in the largest pot I have and put it outside with the geraniums when the weather warms up. They will add nice color.

That's good, then. It's nice to have something to do with your time. How do you keep the cats, or Wisky from eating them? I'm sure some of those are toxic to animals.

Whiskey can't reach them. The cats are largely uninterested in them. Adso had a spell where he was chewing on the hibiscus. The cleaning lady arrived and was shocked to see that he just sat in the same spot on the arm of one of the couches for like an hour. His tongue was hanging out. Adso is a scaredy cat so he hides from most people. By the time I got back he was fine but we think he was like high or semi-poisoned. He hasn't approached the plants again.

@NJChicaa He's lucky then. We don't keep live plants in the house. We can't guarantee the cat won't take interest. All three of our cats (when we had three) chewed on the artificial Christmas tree. so.... no live plants in this house.

@kaylachan For years I couldn't keep inside plants b/c the cats would eat them. These 2 don't.

Lucky fish, you have a herb garden. Is it bulb fennel or herbed fennel you are tossing? Either way, crying shame. And unleash the Dutch inside you and plant that anise.

I found these wildflower seed packets that come from each state, and got California packets and Missouri packets for my best friend (she misses living in Missouri, and loves California). I look forward to seeing how they turn out; wildflowers just make my heart happy. You do a lot with the space you have.

I try. One former neighbor had like nothing in her apartment. My downstairs neighbor's apartment looks like a hoarder apartment. Me? I'm like Goldilocks. It has decorations and stuff but nothing overly excessive.

I wish I could have plants but you know no interest here..I had some but no more. Your place will be lovely with the cosmos too.

I would also like to plant some herbs, but there is no room in my apartment, and it only gets light in the morning. so just have two potted flowers and a potted olive tree.
