So, after I started the allergy discussion I became curious about the most common allergies. They say that seasonal allergies are the most common with about 25 percent of adults suffering from them. The second most common allergies are those to food especially milk, peanuts and tree nuts, eggs and shellfish. Animal allergies rank highly too. I guess that these stats make sense as alot of people seem to be bothered by grasses and molds. Are you allergic to anything?

I doubt they still use that here. I haven't heard about it in years. I bet you weren't the only one allergic

@JudyEv I think you are not alone. I think I may have experienced that too. It also at least with me, raises my blood pressure. That could be part of it too.

@snowy22315 I'd never thought about it raising blood pressure. I rarely take mine as it never seems to vary but Vince takes his regularly. He is on tablets for BP.

I was always allergic to dog/cat/rabbit fur . . . I probably still am but just know how to manage it before it happens. I was never allergic to any food, but I had a Korean dessert a few years ago and got welts . . . apparently that is a sign of a food allergy but I never did figure out what exactly caused it.

Yeah, who knows what was in that dessert? Sister seems to be doing OK with her cat allergy being as she has two.

@snowy22315 I have a friend who has soooo many cats . . . they even built a glass room just to house them all. None are allowed in the actual house though, apparently the husband is severely allergic to cats!

I just have seasonal allergies, and I guess a cat allergy? My dad has seasonal, and as of his forties, also shellfish. My stepmom is allergic to caffeine. My sister says she’s allergic to dogs and cats. I’m telling you now my sister is not allergic to dogs and cats.

@snowy22315 I think you hit the nail on the head. Amyra used to tell me woefully she’d never be able to get Sonic the Hedgehog because her mom was allergic.

Excuse for not getting one? I do think alot of people who say they are allergic to such and such really aren't. Maybe coincidentally they were getting a cold and blamed it on the substance or something..Just my theory..it may be hogwash..

I am allergic to cooking spices and I may also be allergic to shrimp if the amount is too large.

Yes. The dentist told me that I was allergic to the crown material she made. I had symptoms for more than a year. But I still have those dental crowns.

Thankfully I don't have any food allergies but I do get seasonal allergies from pollen, etc.

One antibiotic that I took in the past; and I'm lactose intolerant which isn't a big deal because I can take pills when I eat dairy. Other than that...nothing. Have a good day.

I had a bad reaction to a medicine one time. I doubt that I was allergic..but it didn't agree with me..I guess you would say. I seemed to be sensitive to certain medicines, but I wouldn't say I am allergic per se.

For about 30 years I was diagnosed as having hayfever and an allergy to pollen, which apparently was the cause of chronic nosebleeds and sinusitis. I also had skin inflammation from an allergy which no one could name. An overhaul of lifestyle cured me from all those ills, now I'm allergy free. By the way, I managed to find that documentary I mentioned in my other comment, have a look:

My hayfever was never severe. The only time it would really act up was when I spent alot of time at my grandparent's farm. Especially in the barn, around the actual hay.
