Taking care of Baby

Might as well call my house a baby. Baby started having issues with her downstairs shower drain. Yup. Same shower that we paid to have improved about seventeen months ago. Hubby tried to change her diapers. Did not work. So I found a plumber. Plumber: the guys that put in your Baby's shower did NOT connect the underneath pipes well. That meant that Baby had a leaky diaper. And that I and hubby had a large amount of green bills owed to Plumber. I contacted the original shower re-do guy. He decided to cough up some money. He said he will hand me a check next week. Meantime, plumber is putting in a new faucet in Baby's bathroom, next to her cute shower. So that is what I am doing on a cold, rainy day. Day before yesterday we had a peek at Spring. Today we are having a peak at winter. I hope your weather is doing well.

As I see it, a house is always a baby with issues. Last year I had a fire in the kitchen. Repair cost me a lot more than what I had. Then, as I had the handyman around, I remembered that I had a closed bathroom upstairs because the faucet leaked. Mario fixed the faucet and then I had to paint the ceiling of the first floor. One thing led to the other and Mario painted several walls too. Then I had other faucet problems. They showed in the water bills. It was discovered then that the water closet in every bathroom of the house leaked due to age. I had to change them all. I could go on forever. And not, because my neighbor´s house was burglarized, I will have to pay for part of the electric wire they want to put over the fence. I am sorry for your problems. But still, having a house of your own is better than renting.

@sallypup I have 4. There are 2 in the 2 bathrooms upstairs, one in my bathroom downstairs and one in what used to be a maid´s room that I transformed many years ago into a place to keep junk. The maid´s bathroom is what the maid and the workers use when they come. When Mario changed the leaks the bill went to about 1/10 immediatly. It got paid in a month. AS you see, I need to get rid of this house and go to somewhere smaller.

@marguicha How many water closets do you have? I'm glad you had Mario there to fix things. You should have less of a water bill now plus less chance of mold from leaking water.

Oh those darn plumbers, they always seem to charge 3 arms and 4 legs to get things done.

You would think for the price they'd be competent

@rebelann Yes they do. A plumber gets the grand job of crawling under my house and while he or she is there, attaching pipes etc in a competent manner. At least I hope that happened this time around.

We're continuing the warming trend. In fact, George is enjoying the last of the sun before it sets. It's warm enough he's outside in a t-shirt.

If baby is acting like this now, I hate to see what happens when the terrible two stage arrives. But seriously, I hope that is the end of the things not working saga at your place.

@Juliaacv Perhaps I should not have called my house "baby" since she is 124 years old. It is hard to know who repaired what, when and how able were the folks doing those jobs?

It would have been a lot less trouble for everyone if the work had been done properly in the first place.

It's always something when you own a house...if it isn't, the house iself it is the lawn or the appliances or heating system

@snowy22315 Funny how I don't have a problem paying for a garden helper but I cringe when the house needs attention.

We only have two seasons: dry and wet. Nowadays we have lots of rain causing flood every where at the low lying ground.

I hope it all gets fixed right, I hope spring finds you soon, I can tell about the high and tow temps through my cats. While the temps were up Freddie slept on top of the couch and now that they are down he has moved over to sleep on the end table because that is closer to the heater,

I'm sorry Baby has a leaky diaper. I hope it's fixed now. I'm glad the previous plumber is coughing up some greens for his poor work.
