Yesterday we saw something strange

The cats and I saw something strange yesterday, across the road. Our vision was slightly obscured due to a mail box and a post being in the way, but it looked like a dark colored animal, chasing it's tail. It was not. Someone had allowed two black partially inflated balloons, that were tied together to escape. Even when I could see the whole thing, it gave the impression of a funny critter walking. Bitty was spooked the rest of the day. Her eyes were SO BIG! It moved on out quicker than I could get Bob to come see it. I would have caught it and trashed it if I was fast enough. There is a young man, a teen, in our neighborhood who is autistic. His family allows him to release inflated balloons and I hate it. When he was in elementary one of his paras gave him a balloon every day. At that time his mom worked in a healthcare facility, and if they did not have a balloon at home, she inflated medical gloves for him. The balloons often end up deflated and in my yard. I suspect his mom had a milestone birthday, like 40, and that is where the black balloons came from.

How would they like to find a bag of deflated balloons in their yard?

Sounds like a case of mistaken identity! Glad it was just balloons and not a mischievous critter. Hope Bitty feels braver tomorrow.

When I sold at the flea market there was autistic child that bought balloons with helium in them and than just turned them loose. To me after awhile that would be a waste of money at a dollar a balloon.

Balloons can be dangerous for animals. I have heard of even larger animals choking on them.

Poor Bitty. She wouldn't have known what to make of it.

Balloons are so bad for wildlife. I wish people would stop releasing them. Have a good week. I hope you and Bob are doing well.
