I have been given many cans of garbanzo beans or chickpeas. I like traditional hummus really well and it is considered a healthy snack. I have all I need on hand to make the traditional dish. I also have all I need to make chocolate hummus. I bought some once on sale and I liked it. I think I will make some. I have been researching hummus recipes of all kinds. One web page had fifteen different kinds of hummus. I also learned that hummus can be frozen. I will likely do so. Hubby does not care for it. I would like to make a lot of it and portion it out. The site I checked this on said not to pack your container too full, and to pour a thin layer of olive oil over the top before freezing to prevent it from drying out. Maybe I will get that done tomorrow.

I can take it or leave it but currently have a tub of it in my fridge. I didn't buy it, someone gave it to me. I usually just add canned chickpeas to canned chili, when I have them.

I've never had hummus but I love garbanzo beans. Have a good week.

I have not had garbanzo beans plain, except on salads. I found them a bit too firm.

I had no idea chocolate hummus even existed. Now I’m curious!

I bought a clearanced tub and enjoyed it. It sounded odd, but I know people who make black bean brownies. It could not be any worse.

I like the traditional hummus, but there are many other different recipes to use canned chickpeas.

I saw a beautiful pink hummus that used beet root.

@GardenGerty They make a pink risotto using beet roots here. For hummus I am only for the traditional recipe.

I did not get it done, I came down with "something" after shopping. I wonder whose germs I picked up.

Sounds like you're on a hummus roll! Enjoy making (and freezing!) both the classic and chocolate flavors - who knows, you might invent a new variety next!

I like it because it is a reasonably healthy snack.

I love hummus too although I rarely make it because when I do it never seems to turn out quite like I want. And when I do think of making it I never have any tahini in stock! Hope you enjoy yours!

I have even thought of using peanut butter instead of tahini.

@GardenGerty So did you try that? And if so was it good?

I'm not fussed about hummus but I like it more than when I first tasted it. It must be growing on me, so to speak.
