Our Friend Elliot, Injured on His Motorbike

When I'm talking about Elliot's motorbike, it resembles an actual bicycle. It doesn't have a high-powered engine that makes it go fast. Instead, I think the maximum speed of Elliot's bike is about 40 mph. When he's driving to work, Elliot always travels on the shoulder of the road. Yesterday, Elliot was headed towards his place of employment. The total distance is probably about five miles. His front tire hit a chunk of ice, which caused him to lose control. He was thrown from the bike, into the frozen ground beside the highway. What makes me feel terrible, Elliot continued (injured) to walk his cycle to his place of employment. He had one tooth broken off and fractured ribs. When I purchased my morning cup of coffee, Elliot looked as white as a sheet. He was actually working at Burger King's drive-thru window! He explained that the manager couldn't find anyone to fill this position and told me that he needed to go to Tawas Hospital ER, about 1/2 block from the Burger King restaurant. I offered to take him, but he said no, that he couldn't leave yet. He could eventually walk over there. Then, Elliot asked if I could arrange to take him back home, after being treated. I gave him my cell-phone number and said, "Yes, we will be happy to give you a ride back home!" When I told Jay, he said that it would be better if he picked Elliot up in the truck. This way, the motor bike can be transported, also. I agreed, this would work out better. A couple hours later, Elliot called my cell phone to see if we could give him a ride home. Jay also stopped at Wal Mart pharmacy, to pick up Elliot's medication. Elliot is off work for a couple days to recuperate, after this terrible accident Photo: Borrowed from Pixabay
