We actually got home a couple hours ago, but we stopped to get groceries on the way home. And then I had to get those in and give George a tube feed. I've only got two in out of four, but that's because he had to fast and we didn't get home in time. So I had to do it when I could.
George got a couple more pants that he can wear, bring his total to five. I found a new pair of shorts and a couple of t-shirts. We also stocked up on the hormel completes George and I have been eating and got some things for me.
Say what you will about self-checkout, but George did it. It was slow, but he did it. I think it made him feel good to do that. It was something familar and normal. Something he typically does at wal-mart. Which is where we went shopping obviously.

He surprised me, too. I wasn't sure he would. While I'm an advocate for cashiers, to see George do something so normal felt so good.

If you like self check out, and it is something George can do, go for it. I am not judgey for sure. You are right that the more normal things he can do the faster he will get better.

I just know self-checkout is another hot-button topic for a lot of people. However, whenever we've gone to Walmart or Winn-Dixie we've elected for self checkout. I was surprised when he went to it just like he usually does, or that he had the energy to go to Walmart after getting a needle in his arm.

We only use it when we need to do things a certian way. The fact George wanted to, that was amazing.

I think things will be okay. The bikes slowed us down getting home on Nova, and even though George mistakenly called Mason Dunn, he was able to direct the driver home, allowing us to cut through some of the traffic.
