As usual when it comes to Fasting month prices are creeping up. One kg of rice is usually around 11,000 - 12,000 IDR. It's now 13,500 - 15,000. So are prices of raw chicken, meat and others, they are rocketing. It's feels like chest tightness for those living at all lacking condition. What's your take on it?

The price of rice has nothing to do with fasting, it is because rice has not yet entered the harvest season and what causes prices to rise is that we import too much.

@yanzalong the level of need is greater than the existing stock, that's why all prices went up a month before and if they have gone up then it takes quite a long time for them to go down.

It does. I noticed prices of such things like vegetables, meat, chicken and rice start creeping up one month before the fasting month. You maybe right about it.

@yanzalong Prices are going up everywhere in Europe, mainly because the sanctions we imposed to Russia. Electricity, natural gas, gasoline all went up and this caused the transport of goods to go up.

No fasting months here. Prices are crazy and seem to go up constantly on all food. We cook from scratch, and rarely, if ever, eat out. I have become more creative with cooking than ever. Just do the best you can, it’s all we can do.

@yanzalong We don't waste any foods. There are too many with nothing for anyone to be wasting anything anymore.

That's quite a rise in price. Some are finding it difficult in Australia too as prices continue to rise.
