Hooray! Hot date at Sonny’s BBQ in Lexington this weekend with my niece!! Lots of living between now and then, though…especially in this countdown. Hopefully everyone knew this one was coming…well, everyone who was listening to rock and roll in the 70s. Livin’ Thing - Electric Light Orchestra And how ‘bout “Telephone Line”? I love that ELO (Randy Newman, “The Story of a Rock and Roll Band”) I guess you could say you arrived when Randy Newman skewers you in a song. Hey, it was a unique concept: a rock band with two cellos and a violin! And they did make some great music in the 70s. A little trivia: first, ELO front man Jeff Lynne is one of two surviving Traveling Wilburys (the other is Bob Dylan). Two, with ELO’s induction in 2017 all of the members of the Traveling Wilburys are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame…just with their “other” band/gig. Enjoy this trip back to the 70s. Livn’ Thing Written by Jeff Lynne Recorded by the Electric Light Orchestra From A New World Record, 1976 Don’t start spoiling the show:

Always loved this song and of course, it's ELO. One of those band so many tend to forget about, but they had some great songs even though the one that gets the most airplay is still Don't Bring Me Down.

Slope. I do know of ELO. When I was in England I would regularly get woken up by the guy in the room below me drunkenly singing "Jungle" with his rugby teammates.

Buffett wrote that about you? “She went to England to get woken up every morning by drunks singing ELO.”

Pretty cool putting together a band with every member a HOF'er. They had some great tunes on the Wilbury's albums, and the guys had worked together prior on various projects. It was a great idea by Harrison to enlist those musicians to form a Supergroup like that one. Woops, got off topic a bit. Great tune by that Wilbury member.
