House renovations are far from over

Our house renovation started some time in July of 2023. It is now March 2024 and things are still a long ways to go. I can’t wait for it all to be over. Don’t like living in this mess. We redid the kitchen and the living room bathroom. Now we are repainting most of the walls in the house, the ceilings, and the stairs. And we will redo the floors and stairs. Not installing new things but fixing what we have already. I wish we could also repaint the two bedrooms and redo the floors there, and redo the basement bathroom but my mom is paying for all the renovations. Doing these things is costly. She already spend a lot already. Can’t have her spend even more. She needs that money for herself.

Home renovation has got to be the slowest job on Earth. Nice of your mom to pay for it. I don't like living in a mess either. I am trying to get my daughter and grandson to get some things done around here in preparation for the housing inspection coming up later this month. They are so slow. Frustrating.

She owns the house we live in. She wanted to renovate so I couldn’t say no.

@lovebuglena .......That is a bit different. I hope it is done at some point and doesn't linger on into infinity.

Renovations always look so nice, but what a pain they are!

Sadly renos can take months, sometimes even years. I'm sorry it's taking longer than you had hoped.

Our contractor has another full-time job which makes things take longer. He can’t dedicate the whole day to doing stuff in our house.

@lovebuglena It's not uncommon for contractors to have meltable projects going at the same time. That's why most Renos take forever.

Renovations can seem to go on forever. Are you doing the painting yourself?
