Anita just told me that she was not sure when she would come here because the doctors would make a scintigraphy test on her (gamma scan). This very expensive exam is free for her as a part of what the government gives us in some ailments. I have told you that my arthrosis pills are free and therapy is too. I try not to use therapy though because I have to go and come back in an Uber and that is the expensive part. I have heard that in some rich countries some people just die for lack of proper health insurance. Here we can have quicker health service for many ailments if we have health insurance. But everyone is entitled to some levels of health help. How is it in your country?

Very very broken. If you have money, or are a vet, you get excelent health care, provided you can travel. Everyone else, depends on who you are, how much you make and what private insurance will and won't pay for.

It is a pity because most old people will have several chronic ailments that need permanent care.

@kaylachan One of the problems in my country is the meds are very expensive unless they are given by the government. I hope that at some point someone checks what is happening with them. In Argntina (if I just cross the border) meds are several times cheaper than here.

@marguicha Yes, that's true. As we age, our bodies break down and we need more and more to keep them going.

The health service in our country is also awesome. If we do not have a car, the pharmacy delivers the medications at our home for free.

That is wonderful. But Switzerland is a rich country.

@LadyDuck I´m glad. I was raised thinking that good food, good health and good education were the only important things we must want to achieve.

@marguicha - This is true, Italy is less rich, but it also has a very good health service.

Nothing is free here. Health insurance is necessary. I pay a co-pay with my insurance. It isn't much.

It's not free here; but I don't have any complaints about our health insurance. The last time my husband was in the hospital the charges were around $60,000. Our share was $1,000. I don't know what it will be this time since he's been in and out of the hospital for 6 weeks now. Have a good day.

@LindaOHio From what I read, the kind of health care that President Obama tried to have was a bit like that but it was not endorsed.

@marguicha No. It would never pass here. There are too many people opposed to it.

@marguicha I think the US should have that type of health care.

The problem that free healthcare usually has is that you have to be very ill to be treated. That´s why I pay an extra health insurance. It is not so difficult for young people because they have better health and earn more.

@marguicha our free healthcare covers everybody, rich or poor, old or young it makes no differences. If you are sick no matter what it is, you will be taken care of. I do have health insurance to that covers 80% of my precriptions and a few others things. Our healthcare does not cover prescriptions.

We have public hospital and clinics. The fees charged are very low. But you have to wait for a long time to see a doctor or get treatment. Those who can afford or have bought insurance usually go to private clinics or hospitals. They are quite expensive.

I have an insurance plan in which I can go to a very good clinic for a reasonable amount of money. Still they are expensive. The best way is to stay away from them.

Here we need insurance for quicker medicine. If not, we have to wait for our turn. But still there are some ailments for which the government helps.

Everything here has to do with money and if you're not insured you might as well lay down and die. Which of course would be my case since I take no meds don't need to go to doctors then I pray every day for the Lord to keep ging the strength and health to go on otherwise it's a major problem

If you don't have private health cover here, you can wait quite a long time for various procedures but overall our health care is very good.

It happens here too, but there is a list of ailments for which the government takes care. My pills for my arthrosis are free but the eye drops I bought for my allergy costed a fortune.

In America it all comes down to $$ and if you have insurance. I have excellent medical insurance through my job (though I pay a pretty penny for it). Those who are uninsured are screwed.

It is a pity. In my country health care is quite good. But there are other problems. There is a great gap between the rich people and the poor ones. We need more justice.
