How can anyone be this dumb?

I mean, seriously. A man in Decatur, IL. was confronted by police, he matched an armed robbery suspect. He was reported on our news as leaving the robbery scene, waving a gun. When the police caught up to him and confronted him (guns drawn, of course), he pulled out his gun. Of course, they shot him. It was all caught on body cam. His gun was a nice and shiny...BB gun. That's what he did the hold up with. And he pulled it on the policemen, when a suspect draws a gun, they are trained to fire. So now, he's dead. People are either desperate or foolish or just plain dumb. And some of them die from doing dumb things, which is sad.

I read those things and I always wonder why they reached the decision that they did.

Or this man was an idiot, or he wanted to die.

@MarieCoyle - This can also be a possibility.

Or, he may have needed help desperately, and didn't seek any at all.

In a case like this you only get to be stupid once. Sad but true.

I suppose, like Snowy said, it could have been the man had a desire to just die. If he did, he certainly did accomplish that. But like she said, we will never really know.

So sad. Also Sad for the cop who probably didn't want to do that.

@MarieCoyle And if my loved one is a cop, that's going to sound like the right thing to me.

Maybe he wanted to die. Otherwise, he was tremendously dumb.

I've often heard "play stupid games, win stupid prizes" this is tragic but the statement applies. Hard to pity people who are wilfully stupid.

@MarieCoyle yes, who knows what was going on in his mind really. I do feel for the loss of life, but actions have consequences, sometimes in the worst way. I feel the most bad for anyone he left behind (friends and family.)

Unfortunately, his stupid prize was the loss of life. But as was stated, it may have been what he wanted. To think that would be the way someone chose to die is hard to contemplate.
