Oh boy. For those who don't know Wawa is a regional convenience store located along the east coast of the US. The name means "goose" in one of the Native American languages. I go there for gas and to use the ATM. I'm not one to go out for coffee, drinks, or snacks. Anyway one of their newest offerings is a PBJ--peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It is pretty much the most basic and inexpensive sandwich other than like a cheese one. Only it isn't inexpensive at Wawa. They are charging $4.49 for one. You can buy like 2 loaves of cheap bread for that amount of money. I know for sure my buddy @porwest would starve before spending that on a PBJ. A local food journalist tried it out and was appalled. The bread was way too thick and the peanut butter and jelly layers were way too thin. The price also is just nuts. Apparently it is available only for a limited time so I guess they are testing it out. My guess is that it won't be returning as a regular item after this trial. Like seriously who would spend almost $5 on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich?

That's a bit steep, but you'd be amazed what stupid people would pay or what they'd tolorate. If you're giving it to a kid, you expect them not to care.

@NJChicaa I would, too. But, for that lazy parent on the go, they might just to shut the kid up. Quality has gone down in recent years.

I would never buy that when it is so easy and cheaper to make my own.

I would not pay that for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I would buy a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter and we could all have sandwiches. It is ridiculous how much groceries cost these days. They say inflation is cooling but it is still going up in the grocery departments.

Yes. That sandwich would rot on the shelf. No way, no how would I ever pay that much for that. You are right, you could probably make 15 or 20 sandwiches for that amount.

There are unfortunately a lot of people out there with absolutely no common sense, and they will no doubt buy it. I recently went in to the gas station/convenience area as I needed a receipt for my gas, and of course the pump would not print one, because they never make sure the pump has any paper in it's tiny printer. By the cashier they had packages of one cookie each. These were not homemade, they were fairly large, and I cannot remember the brand name now. EACH cookie was $3.49 For ONE cookie! Why would anyone buy that? Maybe I'm cheap, but so be it, I don't want to waste my money like that.
