Dandruff in a Box, Shame on Me!

Yes, I often use instant mashed potatoes, what my son recently called "dandruff in a box." Supper last night and leftovers for tonight and probably tomorrow is beef and noodles with mashed potatoes. If I were making it for more than just myself, I would possibly use real potatoes. I don't peel them anymore. Too hard on my carpal tunnel. I make what is called dirty mashed potatoes by leaving the peeling on. Nothing wrong with that either, since we eat the peeling in other methods of making potatoes. I mostly use red potatoes though because the peeling is easier to deal with.
Do you eat dandruff in a box?

We prefer to use fresh potatoes. They just taste a lot better.

@MarieCoyle When I cook Indian foods, I have to use fresh potatoes. Instant won't work. If I want baked potatoes, of course those are fresh.

I can understand that. I find it difficult to cook for one person, after feeding a huge crew for so many years!

My husband buys instant in a box and also in cups. We don't use enough potatoes to buy them fresh.
