Sebastian’s Introduction

Everyone needs a travel buddy. We were not aware of this fact until 2019. For two weeks we looked after the grandkids lovies when they needed some repair work. Every day we shared their journey with the grandkids. When we returned them they told us they enjoyed the journey. As a result we adopted “Sebastian”. Naming this intrepid explorer was a unique challenge. John Cabot was the initial inspiration, but we veered to “Sebastian Cabot” the actor. It stuck. On his introductory outing he went for a sail on Lake Huron. What fun! Watch for more of Sebastian’s escapades.

This is such a great idea but I do think Sebastian should be wearing a life jacket. What if he fell in the drink?

Sebastian was brand new. We hadn’t even thought of things he might need. As time progressed he acquired a hat and coat, sun glasses, a mask (Covid), a camera, passport….he hasn’t been sailing since so we haven’t needed a life jacket. I’ll see if I can find him one for future use.

There is another myLot user who often mentions Lake Huron, she lives in Michigan. I am glad to see Sebastian back.

My sister and her husband live in Ontario, Canada (neighbours to Michigan, USA) sharing Lake Huron, They have a sailboat and in the summer we will spend a day on the water with them if the weather cooperates.

We had tested quite a few names before we settled on Sebastian….somehow the name suits our little traveller. Somewhere I have a phot of him in cape Sebastian, Oregon….just because,
