My company is violating a simple...

...rule. My former company is not following a simple rule in China. In fact, I was rehired, and it is like my new company at present. According to the new rule in this country, all online Chinese tutorial companies cannot teach students aged 11 and below. The funny thing is that they tagged these young learners as adults. It seems like they are cheating on their local government directive. What are your thoughts about this concern? Image Credit: i.ytimg.com

Things like this happen more often than you would think. Rules are often losely put in place but aren't or can't be strictly enforced. Here in the U.S. for example, you must be at least 13 to have an e-mail address or open an online account. But, people can lie about their age and you can't be sure the actual age of the person behind the computer screen.

I agree. I assumed that the company was confident enough that the authorities would not find out about this concern. First things first, the virtual teachers have their own passwords for their platform. It cannot be accessed easily. Unless one of the students' parents is connected to a local government agency in this country, They can be reported if they happen.

What if they are caught? Do you risk something?

@LadyDuck It was a big lesson when I only worked with them before. It needs to have backups. Now, I do not need to worry if I am terminated by this company. At least, I have two companies to fall back on if it happens.

If it happens, they might shutdown. This is the worst scenario that may happen to them.

I think at this point dictators winning and soon there will be no rules like that sad to say. Money and power over people. Most people seem to be onboard sad to say, Lets see by people refuting my comment. I mean Israel just blew up a humanitarian aide people and the US still sent them 100 million more in missiles so they could do the same thing again. They saying Israel purposely targeted the humanitarian aid because Israel wants Gaza eliminated like Nazi's wanted Jews eliminated. Funny how it turns out. Maybe people are just purely evil and we the ones who need to go extinct.

You have a point. There are so many things happening in this world that turn out to be bad outcomes. It is impossible for us to control this because the higher-ups are the ones who can control this secondary to their power.

@Shavkat I think Chinese people like doing illegal things

They do not care if it is illegal. As long as there is no insider who will call the attention of the authorities in China.

They should follow the rules and not teach anyone under 11 and below.

You are right. They still have the wrong practice, even before I left last time. It was a really terrible feeling for me to teach a two-year-old girl last night. It was a parrot student.

You said it right. I must say that they cheat because they cannot afford to lose the business.

They should follow the rules and if they don't then their company could be temporarily suspended.

They really do. That is why I did not accept a position title that was offered to me before. There are so many things that are against my principles.

For some rules are made to be broken. Or they feel rules don't apply to them. Signs too for that matter.

You are right. Rules can be broken if they are not acceptable.

You have the responsibility to inform your company when policies are violated, this can be your saviour in the future.

They won't listen to me. Even if I report or call their attention to it, they will just ignore it. For them, business is business.

It's called load-reducing for young students in China. I have a son in Grade 7. Can't say I like it because the competition for them is always there. The balance is the key point.
