Any one know what is best to season salmon patties with? Of course we all have our preferences, but I'm curious what you do, if you do. I read that Gordon Ramsey seasons his with Cajun seasoning. Now these will be patties I am making. Out of the can. It is Alaskan salmon and I am going to fry them nice and hot in butter most likely. It's not my first time making them, but it's been years. Yes you can poo poo about that, but I can't afford to be buying fresh salmon, besides I don't trust the fish here inland. Now if I were up on the seaside where I used to live, yeah.

You could do blackening seasoning, lemon pepper, or even just like salt/pepper/dill.

Every time I made patties of whatever sort of meat, I also fry some diced onions and mix them with the meat as if I would for a home made hamburguer.

@RebeccasFarm I could not cook without onions. I can skip pepper but onion, garlic and oregano have to be around.

My salmon patties are done with the canned ones too! I put in garlic, dill, salt/pepper, lemon, paprika, parsley . . . but it's plus/minus that each time.

DILL! I discovered dill not a long ago and I fell in love with it. And it's a salmon's best friend. I guess butter is going to give it flavor already, so I wouldn't overdo with spices.

@RebeccasFarm Me neither. We use tons of very nice herbs such as basil and parsley but dill is still kind of exotic. And prolly not among the cheapest out there either.

My mom bought us salmon patties ones. I think it was from Costco though could have been from Lidl. Don’t remember. You had to fry them in a skillet I think. I wasn’t a fan. Never tried making them myself. I’d think perhaps lemon pepper seasoning would be good with it.

I have never seen salmon patties already made into patties to buy from the store. Just either fresh or frozen salmon filets or canned salmon.

@RebeccasFarm I am not a huge fan of the black pepper that’s like a powder. It seems more intense to me than when you take whole peppercorns and grind them.

I'd suggest garlic or tumeric,or even taco seasoning. Unless you have sensitivity or allergies to any of those.

Salmon is so expensive, though the taste is unique, I find itself difficult to buy them sometimes.
