Anything can be an excuse for a party

We had the eclipse, in the midst of what is a heavy testing week for the kids. State assessments, etc. A parent for my one kiddo's class made up party bags for the students. Blinking plastic glasses, an orbital flashing bracelet. Little rocket ships, and aliens, I also saw a "moon rock" or "asteroid" that was a big hard cookie. That was Monday. Tuesday, testing all morning. The students got an extra recess and their choice of sandwich crackers, granola bars and fresh oranges while outside. That was to get their brains going. The weather was beautiful, so glad they get to enjoy it.

I still work in an area that believes in movement, taking breaks, getting fresh air and sunshine. I know some places that is not the case.

Good, makes a testing day not so painful.

It seems like the entire last quarter is taken up with assessments of one type or another.

The group of students I work with are exempted from testing. It does mess up their schedules somewhat, though.

Every once in a while kids need a chance to break away mentally. It was fun to see all the little aliens propped up on desks.
