A male ice hockey fan who did not give out his name is being called a hero by Asia Davis who was attending a Cleveland Monsters ice hockey team with her four year son Nasir who would have seriously injured if the stranger had stopped the ice hockey puck that entered the stands near the ice rink in Cleveland with his body as a shield. Asia shared the story with social media who picked up the story. The ice hockey fan who shielded Nasir from being injured as Andrew Podolok. The Monsters organization invited the trio to the next ice hockey game at the Rocket Mortage Fieldhouse in Cleveland Ohio to be the VIP Puck Drop. It is nice to see the good side of ice hockey fans in the news instead of the dark side of fan behavior. Link is breitbart.com/sports/2024/04...via BreitbartNews

That is true since there are horror stories off kids being hit by ice hockey pucks and baseballs.

Getting hit by a hockey puck is just as painful as being hit by a baseball.

That is true. Hockey fans are usually uncouth, but this is a positive behavior occurrence.

That is true that a lot of sports fans are rude inside of a sports arena.

That kid would have been seriously hurt . . . it is no joke how hard these guys can hit those pucks ! I wonder how the human shield felt though (ouch!) - he could have been injured too. Well nice that it all ended well!

@Deepizzaguy Oh gosh, I was hit by a baseball too - in 5th grade I think it was. There were rumors around school that I fainted - but that didn't happen. But yah, it did hurt a lot.

@much2say I was lucky only to have my back hurt from the pitch thrown by the pitcher in Little League.

I have been hit with baseballs when I was younger and it hurts a lot. Getting hit by a puck is just as painful.

Being struck by a puck is worse than getting hit by a baseball since I did play baseball as youngster.

Like Judy said that puck could have done some damage. Glad he was in the right place at the right time. I think I've said that before.

The hockey fan that allowed himself to be hit instead of the small boy, also took a risk, but being hit in a larger body, than in the head, might have not hurt him so much. Still, a brave thing to do, in anyone's language.

So am I since if Nasir had been struck by the hockey puck, the story would have been on tabloid television.
