The driving instructor must have been taking a nap!

So, when we went into the city today we were following a car with "student driver" plastered all over it. Lets skip student and just say bad. She was all over the road.poor control,.stopped short, crawled almost to a halt etc. Generally, when people are driving even if they are students they are decent, maybe overly careful. This one just seemed like she was drunk or something. I breathed a sigh of relief when they turned off. Prior to that We were both stopped at light and the instructor was laughing. This wasn't a school based driving program but from some driving school. Somebody ought to shut that place down!

I see the quality of driving on the roads today (or lack of quality) and shake my head at the fact that somebody somewhere gave these people a license to drive. I think there are a lot of driving schools that should probably be shut down just based on what I see going on out on the roads every day.

@moffittjc As I said, I really don't see her passing her road test.

Hopefully, most of them end up with tickets at some point.

@snowy22315 I worry more about the safety of pedestrians and other drivers around them. I just hope they don't kill anyone as a result of their horrible driving skills.

That student sounds like he/she was quite nervous. I hope nobody gets harmed.

Then she shouldn't be behind the wheel until she feels calm. She is a threat.

@sallypup She was clearly not ready for the roads.

@snowy22315 In the old days nervous neophytes were taken to big empty parking lots to practice.

It makes me wonder if that's one of the reasons why there are so many horrible drivers out there . . . look how they are being taught (or not!) .

I wouldn't want to see her on the road left to her own devices!

Yes, if I had thought of it I would have written down the name of the school and looked up the number.

@LadyDuck If the police had been following them, they would have gotten an earful, and maybe a citation!

@snowy22315 If that is the way they teach people to drive, better not to take lessons.

Sounds like an accident waiting to happen! I hope she improves quickly before she hurts someone - or herself.

Based on what I saw, I think she would have a hard time passing her driving test.

I agree with you since the driving school needs to have qualified instructors,

You should never let a student driver drive like that.

If their window had been opened I would have been tempted to say something.

They should use empty parking lots to teach teenagers how to drive.

She was an adult! I agree though...don't take someone on the road before they are ready to be on it.

@snowy22315 That is all that is needed are more bad drivers on the road. Maybe the person will flunk and have to do it all over again and let us hope they will do a better job the 2nd time around.
