How old is your oldest T shirt?

I wore one today that is 20 years old..I know exactly how old it is as it was one of the old Navy flag shirts they have every year around the 4th. It says 2004 on it. Now, I don't think I have worn this shirt all that often, because it is not faded or anything. It doesn't look new, but it doesn't look old. I do have another one that I got at the National Zoo in Washington DC that is probably even older..but I don't know the date. It is a really cool shirt.with an in depth print, and animal representations but I think it has a rip in it or something. It was my favorite T for years. What about you? Any old ones around?

I remember what I was wearing when my Dad passed away in 2009, and I just donated that tshirt, which still had alot of life left in it a few years ago. The other one that I bought at the same time wasn't brushed fabric like that one that I donated was, and it became a 'rag' after I noticed holes starting in the seams along the top of the shoulders.

Some wear better than others for sure. I had one that had embroidery on it. that I got in St. Michael's Maryland..kind of a wealthy sailing community on the Chesapeake Bay. It might have been made in Guatemala or something but it was a beautiful shirt. It lasted a very long time. I hated getting rid of it.

@snowy22315 I have a long sleeved tshirt that I picked up at Meijer I believe it was before my Dad passed away in 2009, probably as old as 2007 and it still looks great. The meijer brand used to be good quality.

My oldest T shirt is over 25 years old but now I use it as a nightgown. I love it because it has a very witty sentence about the meaning of stress

A very old one, red with a red apple on the left side with the word "Love". I have found a photo dated 1975 and I was wearing it and I still have it.

You sound like my sis. I wouldn't be at all surprised if she has some of that era. I used to have one from Chinatown in NYC I wore for a very long time. It was a pretty pink with red Chinese character lettering. I always assumed it said Chinatown in Chinese...maybe it said you dog or something .. How the heck would I know?

@snowy22315 I still have some very old clothing. Last year I was wearing a pale yellow cotton sweater, my niece asked where did I buy it because she loved... it was older than her 37 years!

@LadyDuck Ha,I have a Christmas sweater that probably is about that old. I never wear it anymore. It is kind of overly glitzy...maybe of the "ugly variety." I was telling myself last year if I wasn't going to wear it, why didn't I get rid of it?

Possibly a few. Some I've worn when cleaning assisting with chemicals and now they're bleached, but they were never favorites. I have one from a family reunion which might have been about twenty years ago. It might have the date on it, but I've not looked in a while.

I have to admit I haven't slept just in a T shirt very often. It seems popular though. I should try it..Most of mine are not very long though.

@snowy22315 I didn't sleep in just t- shirts either. Although some of my PJs might look like a T-shirt even though they are longer. But they're not the same material.

My 'work' shirt' has to be at least 30 years I reckon. It had a skirt to match (second on the right, upper photo) but the skirt is long gone. The top photo would have been taken not later than 1995.

@2ndchances24 I had a super cute one of cats in cowboy boots that sis got me from the Denver airport. That one didn't stand the test if time unfortunately, plus it got a rust stain or something on it.

@snowy22315 Thank you, but it wasn't by anything NORMAL to lose 60 lbs in 1 months time, it about killed me twice, yeah I have them put up where they are treasured for safe keeping.

I got rid of a lot of t-shirts (and other clothes) after losing weight. There was no point keeping clothes that didn't fit. However, there are a couple of special ones that I did keep. I'm not sure how old my Bob Marley one is. I have a graduation t-shirt that is 8 years old but, somewhere at the bottom of a drawer, is a t-shirt from the first concert I went to (Chris De Burgh's Notes from Planet Earth tour). If I remembered correctly, that was 2001 making the t-shirt 23 years old. My eldest son is 24 years old and was about a year and a half when we went to the concert.

I don't have any shirts that you could call a T-Shirt in the traditional sense. The last ones I owned were, I think Polo and they were men's oversized shirts for big and tall men. I wore them as baggy sleep shirts. I wore them until they fell apart, I think because I lived with my son and daughter-in-law at the time, and their washer ate clothing badly. It also tore up one of my favorite afghans. I think I got those shirts in 2006 and it was probably 2014 or early 2015 that they I threw them away. Those shirts were so comfortable to sleep in.

@snowy22315 They weren't the type with the collars and buttons. They were just regular t-shirts.. Pretty much any oversized t-shirts would be good for sleeping in.

I wear my shirts out really fast but I do have a purple pair of pants that is over 30 years old. I wear them all the time and it is not worn at all.

I have some pants older than that, but I can't wear them. It is a goal to be able to wear them again.

@jstory07 Awesome! The only one that I know who was the same weight all his life was my one grandfather. He was a hard working farmer though also blessed with a good metabolism.

@snowy22315 I can often find sentimental reasons for not getting rid of an old "holy" t-shirt.
