The air conditioning kicked on. It has been almost nine years since I have had "central air". I did not know it was hooked up.
I am going to have to read the instruction books for everything, including the programmable thermostat.
The guys have done their work well.
They will be back Monday to finish up. I am not sure what, but they will.

@GardenGerty I'm glad they were nice people who did quality work.

Hi Heather! It sounds like a pleasant surprise. Reading through the instruction manuals is a good move as well, so you can get the hang of that programmable thermostat. What are you most looking forward to with your new setup once everything is finished?

I think I like that we can keep the whole house at an even temperature.

@GardenGerty Maintaining a constant temperature throughout the house can indeed contribute to a comfortable living environment. It helps to avoid hot or cold spots and ensures consistent comfort to everyone.

Yes, it is. I like where they positioned the thermostat, too.

I think central air is much more efficient. Window units are just ON, all the time. Central air spoils us by regulating the temperature, and it's so nice. I'm glad you will have that this summer.

Window units are expensive to run to keep the whole house cool. I will see how this one compares. I never ran all my window units at once, and did not have them in the "living" part of my house only the bedroom/office spaces.

@GardenGerty
When I previously lived in the little farmhouse, I only had window units. Honestly, they cost me way more to run that central air does, even now.

@GardenGerty that's what I have in my cabin 1 in the bathroom
that keeps the kitchen area cool & 1 in the living area that keeps
that part cool & I keep them on low cool cause I don't like it too cold.

I do not use a lot of a/c, and not usually until it is 90 F or above outside. I think since the tree came down I need it more, though, as more sunshine is hitting the house and front windows.

I have had similar systems when I lived other places, so I should be fine.

Actually moreso. I have a heated mattress pad, a heated throw, heating pads, etc. Our window a/c 's were okay but not so efficient.

Yay! You will love your central AC. So much better than window units. Have a good weekend.

That should make your life much more comfortable. I hope you're able to work out how to work out. Those instructions can be a bit problematic sometimes. Good luck with it.
