You know it’s a good year for music when this guy doesn’t even make the top ten! While my vacation is winding down the celebration of songs that are turning half a century old this year is just warming up! Here’s today’s song. Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me - Elton John Dang Siri: I ask for this song and it gives me that pathetic George Michael version instead. I wouldn’t call Caribou one of Elton’s greatest albums ever, but it has two absolute classics back-to-back to close out side two: this, and the haunting “Ticking.” Elton is all over the place in this song, from the soft intro the bluesy quality toward the end. It’s a big hit, and one that’s still remembered and loved today.
