Must be getting close to a three-day weekend: the gas prices jumped sixty cents overnight. 
Ha, I have a full tank, so there! 
I’m also not going anywhere, so it doesn’t matter. I will, however, take you on a trip back to 1974, where there was some great music. You’ve seen that all month, and now I’m celebrating my ten favorites from that year. Believe it or not, this song is now 50 years old.
#9: Best of My Love - Eagles
But of course these guys would show up! They showed up as backing singers earlier (on the Joe Walsh song), and they’re going to show up as background vocalists again before the month is out!
This was the first Eagles song to hit #1. It had what they call “crossover appeal,” charting in country, easy listening, rock, and pop.
A song about breaking up (with all the break-up songs Don Henley’s written over the years, I find it amazing that he’s been married for nearly 30 years now 
) with those lilting harmonies, it still sounds good today.

Love me some Eagles. If they were to do a movie of my high school years the Eagles songs would definitely be the soundtrack for it.

You and 2/3 of the other people would either have the Eagles, Elton John, or The Bee Gees for the soundtrack of their teenage years. Or all three.

They probably thought so, too (until it went to #1, that is). This was the album where they fired the producer of their first two albums because he wasn’t letting them “rock” any.
I can drive down to the base at Fort Knox and get it for about 70c less.

One of my all-time Eagles favorites. Of course, I say that about so many of their songs, lol. JD had a contributing hand on this tune. Souther's contributions as a collaborator with the band is truly amazing. He lent an assist on so many great Eagles tunes.
