Today was week 3 of art class. My taxi arrived at 1:25pm which I thought was really good because he wasn't too early and he wasn't late. He took me to Wall Village Hall and all was great. Until I went in and the tutor, Tina, said, The taxi driver was picking you up from your house, wasn't he? And I said, Yes, ofcause. Why? And she said, Because he turned up here! So he'd turned up at Wall Village Hall instead of coming to my house to pick me up!
?
I had a cup of green tea, but it was the ginsing and matcha and you brew this one for at least 5 minutes! I got a couple of biscuits and I went to sit down.
A guy called Peter came with his wife Sandra and their golden retriever Bailey. He is very friendly and likes shortbread!
We were doing trees today. My worst nightmare! First we did some thumbnails to practise then we chose a picture from the board for our main drawing. I chose to do my drawing on half a page of my sketchbook because I thought if I did a whole page I wouldn't finish it by the end of the class.
We did the outline first with a HB pencil, then started to do shading. I shaded in the darker areas with a 4B pencil and lighter areas with a 2B pencil.
At about 3:30pm I got another cup of tea and while I was waiting for it to brew I had a stroke of the dog. He was just standing looking with those big brown eyes and I couldn't resist!
I continued doing some drawing. I darkened some areas and lightened others with a putty rubber or a pencil rubber. A pencil rubber looks like a pencil, but instead of lead it has rubber in it, but you can get into more detail with it.
I took the picture (above) while I was still in art class.
At about 5:05pm I went out and my taxi was there waiting for me.
I came how and told my Mum all about it and I showed her some pictures of Bailey I'd taken on my tablet. Then I showed her what I'd been doing.
What have you lot been getting up to today?
I hope you are all well.
Have a great rest of your day.

@sharonelton I like to draw trees, it's not as easy as people may think.
I forgot to buy frozen chips, but it's not something I really need.

Yes, I thought I saw what looked like a dogs face in the reference picture, so I wanted to incorporate that into the drawing.
I'm not very good at trees so I suppose the practice is good.
I hope you got everything that you needed when you went grocery shopping.

@LadyDuck No, you're right. I don't find trees easy to draw at all!
Oh, as long as you don't need them urgently.

My daughter and grandson get Lyft rides to their medical appointments and sometimes the driver gets confused like yours did too.
You are becoming quite the artist.

@sharonelton I see strange creatures among the leaves of your trees. Today I drove from Larne to Belfast to Carrickfinn in Donegal. Spent the evening on front of a turf fire. Was woken by a horrible dream so am now Mylotting.

@xFiacre Wow! That sounds about the same as the time it took us to drive to our holiday destination in Burnham-on-Sea!

Well, in the reference picture over on the left I saw what looked like a dogs face in the leaves, so I made sure I put that in my drawing!
Is that a long way to drive?
I'm sorry you had a horrible dream.

@Deepizzaguy I'm glad you enjoyed doing some surveys. And you actually completed them?
That's a rarity for me at the moment. I like the survey sites that give you a few points even when you don't manage to complete a survey.

It's about 2:30 Pm here in my corrner of the U.S. and the only thing I've accomplished thus far was starting the wash. I'll get something to eat in a bit and work on the rest of the laundry.
