Jay and I Drove Past Our Lot

Today is Saturday, it was suppose to rain again. Well, so far we haven't gotten a downpour, thank heavens. Jay and I took a ride past our lot this evening. The water level seems to be going down, a little bit day after day. Until this water is gone, Steve can't start laying our block foundation. Am I being impatient? Yes. Once this dries up, we'll be on our way! We had more rain in May, than we did in March-April combined. Oh well! The weather man predicted rain for today, I'm hoping and praying that he was wrong Photo: Taken by Jay, my husband

The building process can be a real pain, I know that.

Once that water is gone, we can FINALLY get the foundation laid. Then, the building progress will come to life!

@kobesbuddy Once you have that foundation, yes it will. It'll seem to fly once that's done.

@kaylachan Then, the contractors can box in the exterior walls. Once the roof is in place, we'll be much happier. The interior won't depend on the weather.

Well, hopefully it won't rain there so the lot can finally dry up. Seeing how the water rises there on the lot is a bit scary to me. If it does rain, I just hope it won't result to any flooding.

One year we had far too much rain. And yes, there was flooding in many areas of Michigan where we live.

The first little while when building a home the worry is always regarding the weather. I hope that your area gets some dry weather so that this can dry up and the process can resume.

I hope the block dries out soon. Sometimes these things seem to take ages when you're hanging out waiting for something to happen.

With summer approaching fast, we have been losing construction days.

@kobesbuddy I know what you mean since May did have at least two tornadoes hit my area.

Somehow, the picture of our Kharla out there with a ton of box fans and extension cords comes to mind here... But seriously, I hope it dries out soon. We still have some ''pools'' in some of the fields, etc. Which of course geese and ducks are out there swimming in, seems funny to see them when I am on the highway, out in the fields like they are on a real lake!

About ten years ago, our yard flooded and ducks moved in! My dog Brandy was so upset, ducks had taken over her back yard!

@kobesbuddy We have a ton of ponds and lakes and forest preserves with lakes, so we have our share of geese and ducks!

We had rain almost every evening, for two months. Now, it's clouding up, hopefully it won't rain tonight.

Interesting, how many square feet will the house be once it has been built?

The neighborhood is really nice, where we want to build a home. We've had too much rain, our only problem. I need to pray and not lose heart!
