I am a graduate of travel and tour operations management. However it is quite weird that I prefer being served the things I am supposed to be serving! So a few weeks ago I visited the Mara National Reserve for a two day package. I saw the plains, the acacia, the wildebeests and the lions. These, I had already seen in documentaries. What made my day at the Mara was to watch a lion kilt by a snake. So there are snakes so venomous that lions cannot withstand their venom. The poor lion was left to die because as per the laws, man should not intervene in affairs of the jungle life. “Even when the lion kills a gazelle, no one interferes. So when a lion is bitten by a snake, it is left to succumb yet there are is enough supply of anti-venom in the area. What do you think? Could the lion be treated?

Yes, the lion should be treated if it is made safe to do so. At the very least, put it out of its suffering if it is not going to be treated. I can’t stand the thought of an animal suffering. A lion eating a gazelle is different as it is food. But the Lion serves no purpose for the snake.

@sidikomple That’s a difficult one. We don’t interfere if a snake kills a rat so why should we change the principle for a lion? I have a crippling fear of snakes so I stay well away from them rather than have them exterminated.

Yeah, snakes are a bit difficult to deal with. The best idea is just to keep away from them lest you fall a victim of their venom!

I guess they don't believe in interfering with nature, but it would break my heart to see it.

I know they don't intervene in these cases but it does seem a bit cruel.

Wow! That something I would not expect to see.
I'm surprised the lion would not avoid the snake.
Curiosity killed the cat! I guess one must follow the laws of the jungle, so the lion learned a deadly lesson.

It's nature's way of taking care of the species.
