Games We Play

The photo has nothing to do with the discussion. We played a couple of simple games at the soup night held recently at our clubhouse. I wondered if these are played in your country/s. One is called Heads and Tails. Everyone stands and places their hands either both on their head, both on their tail or one on their head and one on their tail. Once everyone has decided on heads, tails or one of each, someone tosses two coins. If the coins come down as two heads, anyone who didn’t choose two heads, sits down and is out of the game. Those who remain standing can now change their choice and the coins are tossed again. This goes on until only one person is left standing. They received a small prize. I’ll write about the other game in a separate post.

@JudyEv I have the feeling I could get good at that..as I am good at darts..not super different. I saw some people on TV who were Cornhole pros and played in tournaments! They actually made a living doing that! My new aspiration lol. First I need to get some boards though ..

@snowy22315 We'd never heard of it but played it in France. When we researched it, we discovered it was huge in America. So I knew about tournaments being held but didn't realise you could make a living from it.

We made our own boards for cornhole toss and I made the bags as well. They play that sometimes. It's good fun too and suits everyone.

@JudyEv We have some checkers that we could glue together, so that there is a black and a red side. That would work to teach the children the game.

@JudyEv If we hit a night there isn't enough there play euchre I will suggest that. We have to play some kind of games for them to be able to keep using the building for it.

Heads and Tails sounds like a fun game. In some places, it might be called something else or be a bit different, but using coins for a game is common.

@JudyEv You're absolutely right, Judy! It's fascinating how games can vary from place to place, yet still have similarities.

Fun and funny. I look at myself in the mirror as I pose myself in those position to see which look more hilarious. It's a toss up between hands on head/butts and both hands on butts. Thanks for the chuckles.
