I swear, Some Days I Have to Wonder

If you can picture this, I park my riding lawn mower facing forward to back out in the garage on the left side, toward the overhead door. Behind that goes my self-propelled push mower. I usually back the push mower in, pull up the seat on the rider and sort of tuck the handle for the push mower under it without it fully coming down. That gives me about a foot or so of clearance from where the overhead door is so I can open and close it without it getting in the way. This morning, I went out and started the door opening as I was going to make a quick run to the gas station to fill up my gas can. As the door was opening I turned to do something else when I heard a strange noise. When I turned my attention back to the overhwead door the front end of my push mower had caught onto the bottom piece of the door and was being hauled into the air as the door went up. By the time I got to it, it dislodged itself, crashed down, and it knocked off the bar that has to be held down to keep the mower running. I stood there for a second or two thinking, how in the hell does this sort of thing only ever happen to me? And still, I can't pick the winning six lottery numbers to save my life!

I honestly couldn't tell you. I don't know rather to laugh or cry. Maybe something shifted? Perhaps you can get the mower fixed?

Well, luckily it didn't do any damage to the mower or the door other than the hold down bar coming off, which was easily put back on. But good grief! lol

At least you didn’t do what one of my neighbors recently did. Her little one was screaming in the back seat of the car in his car seat. She used the remote to open the door, and evidently hit the remote twice, as the door came down and hit the top of her car. She is still mad at herself!

Ooh. Ouch. Hopefully it didn't dent the roof.

@porwest Yep! Lower element in oven went out. He got it ready to put in one in after it came in a couple of days later and the wire popped back behind the stove. (giggle) So this delayed everything by having to pull the stove back out from the wall and start all over. Got it fixed and the next day AC unit in the dining room went out. So another project on the plate now.

Sometimes things just come in cycles, as they say. Never good cycles, for me. lol
