Do You Do A Lot of Work Online Daily?

I find that I spend about six hours online on a normal day. Unless I am not feeling well. I spend time writing 2-3 posts each day. Research and the actual writing takes awhile. Then I usually have between 80-100+ notifications to answer each day. I try to get to answering as many posts as I can that my friends have posted. Then I have a couple of other sites that I work at least 3-4 days a week. I think I average about 6 hours a day on all of it.
This isn't the only thing I do each day however. I also figure what needs to be done chore-wise each day for the kids. My daughter does better if she has a list so she can remember. My grandson does too. I also set up their transportation and I make up the grocery list every two weeks. I also correspond with Housing and am helping my grandson get SSI which takes time too. So, I think I do quite a bit for being retired. Just no physical labor.
I want to start getting my daughter and grandson to do more for themselves. I think they can set up their own transportation and maybe, they can start helping one another to figure out what needs to be done in the housework department. It is hard because they both have memory, attention and mood problems. I told my daughter I was going to start having her do her own transportation. I think she could do it. She already does the cooking and most of household chores although my grandson is helping her more. She has trouble talking on the phone and that is why I started doing it. But, when I am gone they are both going to have to pick up doing a lot of things they aren't doing now.
Do you do a lot online? I suppose most of you take care of your husbands too and even children. It is a job in itself. Maybe we do enjoy it for the most part but, we won't be around forever. What do you think?

You are doing a lot! I have some medical disabilities and before I had to move here with my daughter and grandson I was told by my doctor to go to the gym in lieu of PT and I was and it was doing good. Oh yeah I still had some pain, but not as much. The gym is about 30 minutes away and I don't have a car. Therefore I need to take a Lyft and can't afford it. I wish I could do more stuff online to earn some more money.

There are all kinds of surveys you could take to earn money. You could also check out exercises to do at home.

@celticeagle I have done many surveys, a lot I spend a lot of time doing and then when the scale says that I have completed 98% it says I am not qualified and I earn nothing. I also get a lot of spam phone calls, notifications and emails from doing them.
This place is very small and not enough room for me to do exercises here, no room for the equipment that I need or the money to buy them.

It probably saves you time to be able to pay your bills online. If he could I'm sure your husband would tell you how much he appreciates what you do for him.

@LadyDuck ........It's nice that he appreciates what you do. I hate having memory issues. I take Co Q 10 to help me with the brain work.

I am online a lot, but not as disciplined as you are. I do quite a few things for my husband and his medical. He does try to help take care of me as well.

It sounds like you're really busy each day! Managing your online activities, taking care of household chores, and helping your daughter and grandson can be a lot to handle. It's good that you're thinking about teaching them to do more things on their own. That could really help them become more independent.
For me, I do spend time online for work and fun, but I also have other things to take care of. Finding a balance between everything is important. Planning ahead and helping your family gradually take on more tasks themselves can be a good idea. It's true that our responsibilities change over time, so preparing for the future is important.

I hope what I do with them sticks after I am gone. Balance is very important and so is preparing ourselves for the future.

@celticeagle You're absolutely right about finding that balance. It's great that you're thinking ahead and teaching your family independence. It shows your care and foresight. Your efforts will surely leave a positive impact that lasts.

Same here. I enjoy doing research. I was sure tickled when I found the internet and no longer had to do it book by book.

From what I read, it looks like you are quite busy the whole day. Spending 6 hours a day online is normal though. I used to work 8 hours a day when I was freelancing. But what interests me is that you have around 100 notifications to answer daily. That's quite remarkable. I mean you are quite active.
Also, what I liked is that you are making your next generations work. That's how a real senior family member should be like. I hope I can be as active as you can.

Yeah, you have been here for 16 years and me for 15. And the way you are active it's obvious from the number of posts you have. I'm just reaching 4000 posts. You are 40 times more active then me here

As a matter of fact, I was away from here for quite a number of years. But now catching up...

You are such a good woman to do what you do and take care of the both of them.
Yes, this is how I also think, I won't be around for long, so am trying to make sure my son can do what needs to be done. Mostly he is doing well with this.
