Fancy stairs!

Here’s something a bit more cheerful than my last post. We visited a relative last week in her ‘new’ (to her) home, which she has been busy decorating. She obviously has an artistic streak because as well as the usual sort of jobs of freshening up the paint and making new curtains, she came up with the idea of tiling the stair risers with these pretty Mexican tiles (and she did all the tiling herself). It really looks great and we all admired it. Have you seen stairs like these? All rights reserved. © Text and image copyright Fleur 2024.

No, and they look good with the white walls.

I had never seen an idea like that either, it does make a nice contrast with the white.

I have only seen stairs with that treatment in online home articles. It is lovely. I would enjoy something like that.

I zoomed your image to have a closer look. Quite colourful. Must have cost her quite a bit.

I didn't ask whether it was expensive. The staircase is not that big as it's only a small house.

She has great taste, that is very eye catching. My daughter-in-law did something similar to that in a home that they lived in a few years ago. She has a similar flair for decorating.

Never crossed my mind either but it makes a real feature of an area you never look at that much normally.

@fleura It looks so pretty that you might take all day climbing those stairs just to take in the view. Well done her.

Yes, I saw stairs such as those and took a picture of them in Key West. They were lovely. Your relative has good taste. Have a great day.
