A Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) deputy who had assistance from Rocky Mountain Wildlife Alliance (RMWA) answered an emergency call about a falcon who was trapped in a barbed wire fence in Sedalia Colorado on Tuesday.
The deputy whose name was not released to the public as well as the employee of the animal services were able to free the falcon and take the wounded bird to the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Alliance in Sedalia where the falcon will have the barbed wire removed and close the wound.
Hopefully the falcon will be make a full recovery and be able to fly into his home once again soon.

We have the World Center For Birds of Prey out here in Boise. Many falcons, eagles, owls, etc. get medical help and some stay there and teach the world about themselves. I am so happy to see that this falcon was rescued.

Barbed wire is so dangerous for bird and other animals. My grandpa had a cow get tangled up one time. His arm got torn, the cow was frightened and fighting like crazy to get loose!

Barbed wire is very dangerous indeed since my late grandparents had barbed wire fences in the farms in the countryside of Panama.

@Deepizzaguy My grandpa had to keep barbed wire fencing, to keep animals of all kinds out of his corn and produce fields.

@kobesbuddy The same with my relatives who live in the countryside to keep the cows and horses in their farms.

A few years ago, I found a deer stuck in a wire fence. She was trapped and had thrashed so much, the wire was twisted around her foot. She would not let us near her, and we didn't want to make the situation worse, so we called the wildlife people. I was afraid they might have to put her down, but somehow they managed to free her.
I hope the rescued falcon will be able to fly, after healing.
