Celery Is Still Growing

A while back I put the end of a celery into a small container with some water on the recommendation of another myLotter here, and it is actually growing. 22 days later it's really shaping up. I have no idea how long it will take before I can chop it up and use it. But it's fun to watch it grow, nonetheless. Meanwhile I thought, well, if it works on celery, MAYBE it will also work with quarters? We will see. I placed four quarters in another small container and added some water, and I will let you know in a couple of weeks if I see any progress. Fingers crossed and onward and upward.

That'll work for green onion and bok choy too! Speaking of growing greens, I'm going to try that with a 100 dollar bill !

@lovebuglena I especially love doing the green onions - just make sure your green onions have the roots at the bottom. Soon enough, the green grows and you can just snip them. Change out the water often, eventually it will get slimy.

Quarters aren't organic. You know the only way to make those quarters grow is to invest them, not put them in water.

@porwest It would be a real twist of fate. Or do you have a money tree growing in your backyard and you're hoping those quarters will do the same? Now, that would truly be a twist of fate.

Of course. But what if just once...you know...through some strange twist of fate...these bad boys actually grow into dollars? lol

You are gonna end up 50/50 on that one! Do another celery!! If only we *could* grow money like that!

At the same time, if money was so easy to come by, would it still have any value? Hmm. lol

@kareng You would be right about that. If anyone could grow what they needed, no one would work for it, and there'd be nothing to buy because there'd be no one to make anything.

I suppose, based on your comment, you aren't holding out any hope on the quarters? lol

@porwest I have my doubt about a quarter tree but who knows in the crazy world it just might really happen,

I thought at first what for are those coins related to the post until I finally read the whole thing... Oh please don't forget to give us heads up so that we will do the same if it really works... Anyway, I love the humour...

@MarieCoyle There is an irony, though—gosh, I always have to find the negatives in everything. lol. If money DID grow on trees, it would have no value because everyone could grow it and no one would have to work for it.

@porwest Wouldn't it be cool if it would actually work? Haha, dream on! There is a really old movie, called ''It Grows On Trees'' about a family discovering a tree/bush in their yard that actually did grow money on it. I remember watching it years ago, and wishing I had one!

Christmas is not too far away. Maybe those quarters will multiply after Santa comes to visit.

It's really growing nicely. I don't know how many million years it will take until I can eat it. But it's fun to watch it grow anyway. As for the quarters, do you think there's a chance? lol
