Things Have Sure Changed

I remember when my kids were in school, when it was out for summer, they were out for nearly 3 months. Now it's like 2 months. I had planned to be going about now, but was reminded by the news school starts today. Don't want to contend with school buses. So I'll go get me a nap. You all have a good day, stay cool..

I think six weeks is the longest break for our kids.

Boy, they hardly had no time. Mine got out in May, and went back in August. Too much time.

@JudyEv Well, they sure didn't think about that with my kids. Lol

@popciclecold Kids forget a lot if they are away from school for too long.

Yep. I remember when school started after Labor Day . . . now it's early August . I think they lengthened the first semester so it could end properly by winter break. I also heard it's all about the time needed to prep for those standardized tests. In any case, we'd rather have a longer summer break too.

I most certainly agree.

That really is an early start to your school year. Our schools don't start until the end of August. I do agree though, that it seems as if the summer break is shorter than when my kids went to school.
