Usually On The First

United States
August 1, 2024 3:12pm CST
Today I had nothing but dread about going to town. Finally I decided to go. On the first usually there's a lot of traffic, stores jammed pack. But on my way, I was surprised there was hardly any traffic. When I got to the store, the parking lot barely had cars on it. Thought it would be full. Hardly anyone in the store. Was in and out before I knew it. The man that did the carryout, I told him how surprised I was it was so empty, he told me on the 15th it would be awful, I told him thanks for telling me. Won't go around that time. I hate crowds. Have a good evening.

I go to the grocery store early in the morning. Usually there are 1-2 others in there at that time. I used to wait until mid-morning, 10ish, but it was too crowded for my liking. Like you I don't like crowds.

Usually I do, but the dread of it was weighing on me. But I will still go early.

I'm glad that you got in and out quickly and no crowd! It's nice to shop without a crowd and people everywhere.

@popciclecold And you have the rude people that won't move over when you politely say, "Excuse me." Yep, I've had enough of all that!

Exactly. Running into people, or not being able to get down an isle because it is full is very frustrating to me.

Lucky you ! I usually take the early noon for shopping .I like to do the shopping on a weekday by adjusting work timings as most crowds would be less on weekdays and especially around early noons. It has worked most times , except if i tried during the weekends. On weekends, the crowds may not be less and could even be more as they want to make most of the time outside. And getting the parking and traffic all are challenging. Glad to hear your tale. Thanks for sharing!

Around here a lot of people get their Social Security check on the 3 rd and it is busy. Not sure why your store would be busy on 15th of August, unless it would be back to school.

That's good that the place was neaerly empty. I don't enjoy shopping when there are lots of people around.

I know it's very frustrating. Almost running into someones cart, or needing to go down an isle which is full drives me bonkers.

I'm glad it was a quick and smooth trip for you! I have my groceries delivered, which makes things a lot easier. It's so convenient and saves a lot of time, allowing me to focus on other tasks without the hassle of going to the store.

I use delivery every now and then, but sometimes you need a quick pickup.
