Preparing For the Next Camping Trip

We are not sure if this will be the final one of the season. We are heading out to camp in the Galesburg/Knoxville, Illinois area on Thursday morning, coming back home on Sunday. But of course, we plan to have a good time. My wife's cousin Lorie will join us. It's become an annual thing with her as well as my wife's other cousin Larry and his wife Robin. In September we have a trip planned to drive to Florida to visit with some friends and of course I am thinking of going back to work following that. Just part time, but I am still entertaining the idea of calling Rottler Pest Control to see if they might need someone in sales. MAYBE one more in October with dad since he bought an RV as well. But we will see. Later in October I need to get the camper in to get winterized and put it up for the winter, and I don't want to wait too long.

Oh. I bet I could. It's a blast and SO relaxing. And our camper has all the "amenities." Microwave, stove, oven, heat and air conditioning, shower, toilet, you name it.

@porwest to sit in the middle of the woods? No thank you. Get back to me when you camp at the beach.

@NJChicaa I already told you, most campgrounds are right off the highway in the middle of big cities. You have everything you need. We're not boondocking. lol

I still laugh when you mention your camping season winding down, because that’s when mine starts up!

@porwest Now that would be a great life. I would sign up for that type of camping/living!

I long for a time when we will be in a place where we can camp all year round if we wanted to. One day.

@moffittjc Me too. Maybe the wife and I can find a nice spot in Florida and just work the tee shirt stores in the area to supplement the income. lol

Will do. They are a lot of fun, and relatively cheap too...well, if you forget about the cost of the camper. lol

Last year we didn't get in quite as many as we would have liked. This year it should be better.

I'm with @NJChicaa. I don't think I would enjoy camping. Have major fun.

@porwest It would be hard to share that tiny bathroom with several people.

The way it's done nowadays, it's almost like staying in a hotel room with the added bonus of a grill and a campfire.

I have friends and family in both Illinois and Florida. I have not been to Illinois since I was a baby. I have only been to Florida once 12 years ago and I totally fell in love with central Florida and would love to go back or even move there. Is that your RV in the picture? How nice!
