We hogged our booth in Pizza Hut for about three hours. Elaine was my room mate for my freshman year in college. So we have known each other for about fifty years.
Her first books were about intentional grandparenting, however the book I wanted is for young children and it is about learning to manage their own feelings in an appropriate way. When she moved to this area, about five years ago, this book was written but not finished or published yet, and she shared the story with me of how she came to write it.
She is also interested in genealogy and her most recent book is about her grandmother when she was a school teacher "out west". She has also ghost written a book and a devotional book as well.
Elaine was contacted and invited to be a guest on a podcast that just hit yesterday or today.
I think to see and learn more about her books you should check out www.elainemcallister.com

@snowy22315 We have been able to keep up with each other over the years, sometimes working in the same places. Even back in college she was interested in genealogy and we traced some things thinking we MIGHT be distantly related.

I feel " attached" to this book because she told me the story and circumstance before she even had submitted it for publishing.

@GardenGerty I can understand that. It's always nice to know the story behind a book or a painting.

She went through a local publishing house, Mennonite Press I am not sure if it is one you pay in advance or not.
