A huge turtle that had escaped from a ranch in Picacho Peak Arizona on Tuesday July 30 was seen by eyewitnesses who saw the turtle traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 when the Arizona Department of Public Safety notified the state police who then identified the turtle who is known as Stitch due to a label on its shell and notified the Rooster Cogburn Ranch to inform them they found a loose turtle three miles away from the ranch. Danna Cogburn who is the owner of the ranch did admit that the fence that surrounded the ranch was damaged by storms earlier. The Arizona State Police Department officers gave Stitch a ride on their car and return the turtle back to Danna who is happy that her turtle is back home. Link is upi.com/83217234744901 via @upi

Glad the turtle got back home but another case where I would like the turtle to explain his actions, Perhaps he had family to visit,

I am in agreement with you why the turtle walked away from the ranch myself.

That is one heck of a large turtle, it must have dug its way under the fence.

@Deepizzaguy Their claws are long and curled under. Digging under the fence, was easy for this turtle!

George said: A huge turtle that had escaped from a ranch in Picacho Peak Arizona on Tuesday July 30 was seen by eyewitnesses who saw the turtle traveling eastbound on Interstate 10. So I have to ask: What was the turtle driving?

@Deepizzaguy Okay. Figured because he was on the interstate he was driving.

I think that turtle 'walked' away from home rather than 'ran' away but I'm glad it's home safely.

That is what I meant to say since turtles move slowly,

Stitch got pretty far from home, 3 miles. Glad they found him and was able to reunite him with his family.

At least they wouldn't have trouble catching up with the turtle, they are slow movers, on any highway, or anywhere else for that matter too. Maybe he had a stitch, so was walking extra slow too, being named Stitch as well.

You are right that the name Stitch may have been based on what was on the turtle.
