Truck accident on a highway in California spills boxes loaded with raisins

Boxes of raisins spilled on a freeway in California

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) was called into service on Wednesday afternoon to pick up boxes that were filled raisins that closed six lanes of an eight lane freeway when a truck hit the center divider on the northbound lanes of the 2 Highway near the La Canada Flintridge area. The accident sheared the truck trailer open which caused the boxes or raisins to spill on both sides of the highway which affected rush hour traffic so that a cleanup crew were able to clear six of the right lanes in a period of seven and a half hours. I am sure that prices of raisins in the supermarkets will go through the roof due to the lack of raisins that were lost in the accident. Link is upi.com/7661723733556 via @upi

So many raisins would have made a real mess on the highway.

All I can see is that Claymation “California Raisins” commercial from the 80s.

What a waste of a lot of raisins, Wish someone knew of animals who enjoy raisins and they could be gathered and dumped in an area where there are animals,

That is a good idea to give away the raisins to starving animals.

Well you took the words right out of my mouth about the price of raisins going up it's a good thing no 1 was hurt, but almost 8 hrs to clean it up in rush hr traffic I bet that was a mess & slippery & hard to get all that off the road to drive on.

A nasty accident raisin havoc, so to speak. It is always a great shame when foods are wasted like this, by such an accident.

I hope the driver is OK. That must have been quite a backup on the freeway.

I think that the driver of the truck is okay even though the driver is upset that he or she lost the raisins that were on the truck spilling on a highway.

I only like raisins with chocolate. There are a lot of raisins there. Some poor people would still eat them.

That's a lot of raisins. 7 1/2 hours to clean up 6 lanes of the spilled mess. I love raisins, especially in my oatmeal.

Wow, that’s a crazy scene! A truck full of raisins making a mess like that is definitely not your everyday accident.
