Super Blue Moon

Did anyone catch the Super Blue Moon last night?
Here is the photo I captured with my cell phone. It was gorgeous and all bright in it's glowing glory.
I had messaged my daughters to take the kids out to see the Super Blue Moon. One messaged me back and said that they didn't see any BLUE! I told her that they were not supposed to!! That just means that there is more than one full moon this month. She said, "OH!"

I have seen it when I got up at 2 this morning for a visit to the bathroom. It was still high in the sky when I got up at 5:30. The name "blue moon" does not refer to the moon's color and this one is the only "blue moon" of the year (only when there are 2 full moons during the same month the second is called "blue moon".)

Neat pic, I wanted to look for it, but wasn't sure what day it was. I thought the weatherman would tell me. He usually mentions astro phenomenon, but I didn't hear him say anything.

That's a beautiful picture. It was full moon on Monday and we saw the gorgeous moon. Yesterday, it was raining as soon as it got dark. So, no moon or stars. We enjoyed the rain falling on the terrace

I did see the Super Blue Moon! It was amazing. I had a couple of my friends who live along the Atlantic coast take photos of the full moon rising above the ocean, and I will say that some of them got some amazing shots. It's nice that our phone cameras are finally starting to be able to capture the glory we see with our own eyes!
