Let's hope the weather clears soon

We’ve had two very rough and windy nights and tonight is supposed to be more of the same. We are hoping to go away on Monday, heading north to where the wildflowers are out in all their glory. We’re taking the caravan but it still isn’t much fun if it’s too wet. Vince’s brother is taking a tent which will be even less fun. I guess we’ll wait till Sunday and check out the weather but I can’t see us cancelling our trip. We intend to come back the following Saturday and Vince goes into hospital for an operation on his lung on the following Wednesday. The photo shows an area of everlastings that we saw on our last trip to the area which was some years ago now.

I missed the discussion about the surgery on Vince’s lung. Are they doing a biopsy or removing the whole spot?

They are taking out the lesion as it's growing. They will test it immediately and if it tests malignant they will take the top part of the lung after that but at the same time so it will only be one operation. They say people function perfectly well after such an operation so we're hoping they're right.

So you seem to be facing the twin of rains and cold weather? Or perhaps a dash of Fog and Heavy Mist too thrown in? If the weather is unsuitable, Caravan won't be fun. And a Tent? Well, that could be even more messy!

Thanks. The three of us are going to a concert tonight and no doubt will discuss it but the forecast doesn't look too bad although I'm pretty sure we'll get wet once or twice.

With luck, we'll get some good photos although flowers don't change much from year to year. lol I'll let everyone know how the operation goes in due course.

We got back today from our little holiday. The weather was good and it only really rained on the day we had to travel. Vince is having a lump removed from his lung. We don't know if it is malignant or not yet. but hopefully it won't be.

We’ve just had similar weather due to storm Lilian, which was the tail-end of hurricane Ernesto all the way from the Caribbean. Our Met Office names all storms in alphabetical order. Lilian is named after an Irish pioneer aviator, Lilian Bland. Apparently she was the first woman in the world to design, build, and fly an aeroplane. Impressive eh? She must have had a good sense of humour too because she named her plane ‘Mayfly’. I’d never heard of her before, but it’s amazing what the wind blows in.
