A false alarm story from a beach in California

Lifeguards that saw what appeared to be a human skull that washed up on a beach in Long Beach California on Monday morning caused the lifeguards to call the Long Beach Police Department to report what they thought was a criminal act.
When the police arrived at the beach and examined the human skull that was seen with some its face missing in the sand, the medical examiner did find out that the human skull that was found on the sand was a plastic prop skull that looked real from a distance.
Thank goodness that the plastic human skull was a false alarm in this case.

I can relate to what you are saying if I did see a human skull on a beach myself,

Glad to know it was fake. Boy, I can imagine it being real and the police digging up the entire beach, Most have been leftover from last Halloween,

I know what you mean if the skull was indeed real instead of a prop.

I didn't see this in our local news. The thing is Long Beach is high in violent crimes . . . so it would almost be believable that something like this could happen there. But thank goodness it didn't - no real victim (except the prop)!!2 people like this

I am in agreement with you that the skull found on the beach was a prop,

I also would be scared if I saw a skull on the beach myself even though I like the horror television show "Thriller" that was hosted by the late Boris Karloff.

@Deepizzaguy Oh, horror is my FAVORITE genre. Of course, I much prefer fiction over reality. lol

That skull might have fooled some people, but a closer look reveals the truth.
