In Case You Didn’t Notice…

This was a great little trip! I started out in Cincinnati with the horror of slavery then moved on to Indianapolis with a lovely walk along the canal in downtown. Then off to Illinois for lunch with Marie before zipping up to Joliet to start three days along Route 66. Along the way I got to see tributes to eleven fans who died at a concert in 1979, the Black Brigade that helped defend Cincinnati in the Civil War, the crew of the USS Indianapolis, and President Lincoln. I also got to walk back in time in small towns and see a road that was once so vital to American travelers. Much of it is either a bike/walking path or overgrown with weeds as we’ve moved on to bigger and better interstate highways. AND I got to meet my 7th myLotter!!! It was a terrific little trip, and I thank you all for coming along! Until next time, here I am in a 1914 fire truck at an old gas station in Dwight, Illinois.
