It Was A Great Night for a Fire

For the past couple of days, we have been enjoying some cooler weather with the windows open and the air turned off, which is always nice. Besides saving money on electricity, I prefer to have the windows open and let the fresh air in, which is something we can't do often when it gets so hot and muggy outside.
Last night turned out to be a great night to get a fire going in our fire pit and spend some time on the deck chatting about life and future plans.
Meanwhile, I cooked chicken thighs on the grill and made some fried potatoes with onions and green beans for sides. Of course it was our own personal happy hour with some beers and drinks to boot.
All in all, a great Sunday evening.

A fire pit on a wooden deck?! You sure love to live dangerously, don't you. I hope that trash can is full of rainwater to put out any sparks that might hop out of the pit.

@porwest Not big enough when a log pops and sends a flaming ember farther than the mat.

That all sounds like a happy evening. Glad that you enjoyed it. I stay in a place that never gets extreme temperatures. We can let the fresh air in all the time. I have put mosquito nets on all windows and sliding doors. I let the fresh air come all day unless it starts raining heavily.

@porwest Better to stay away from these nasty mosquitoes. I hate them. I leave no stone unturned to make sure that they are away from my home. Dengue has become an epidemic in my state.
