Yeah, this sounds good next to a country song, doesn’t it?
I know I keep saying that I’m really only one person, and I’m not schizophrenic. I just have really strange music tastes. Take that country song I just posted…and this.
December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night) - Four Seasons
Hey, it’s the Jersey Boys!
This song was originally started as “December 1933,” about the repeal of Prohibition. It turned into a sex romp. MUCH better subject matter.
This song featured THREE vocalists: “regular” Four Seasons lead singer Frankie Valli just does the bridge, bassist Don Ciccone doing the falsetto (which was usually Valli’s forte in the 60s), and drummer Gerry Polci singing lead. (Your trivia: Ciccone was the bassist and lead singers for the band the Critters, who had the hits “Mr. Dieingly Sad” and “Younger Girl.”)
It was the highlight of their “comeback” era in the 70s, and still remains one of the most popular songs in the career of the band.
December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)
Written by Bob Gaudio and Judy Parker
Recorded by the Four Seasons
From Who Loves You, 1975
Peak chart position: #1
Today’s country song: “Cincinnati, Ohio”

Gotta take the country with the rock in this peculiar, I mean, particular list.

I don’t hear the similarities, but it could be the piano, man.

@FourWalls No? I think the drummer sounds almost EXACTLY like Billy Joel.
