We got good news today.

George is very happy. He passed the swollow study, and is allowed to start eating what he wants. That'll be good. We have some meals I'd been holding onto that I know he likes, because they contined foods on the 'foods to avoid list'. Once George gains enough weight, we can talk to the nutritionist about weending him off the peg tube safely. I know he wants it out, but it takes time.
George is tired, but we stopped at Winn-Dixie to get some more hot dogs,and some stuff for his special salad. He knows that he's going to have to put in the work to make it. But, at least he's motivated knowing he can have it again.
He is tired, but then so am I. We went from going out once or twice a week to once a month, if we're lucky.

I am glad to hear he passed the swallow study. That's a big step forward for him. Little by little, he's getting there. He does have a good cheerleader/encourager!
Hopefully you can have an easy dinner and rest a bit this evening.

I ordered myself a chicken sandwitch and I picked up some hotdogs at the store. George knows he needs to make the salad, himself. Which will be good therapy for him.

@MarieCoyle Yeah. He can stand, and he killed it walking around the store. He even got himself to the bathroom a couple of times today instead of soaking himself and the couch.

I love salad, and yes, it will be something he can do for himself, which will help build more confidence for him.

He just has to keep up what he's been doing and we'll have it out in a matter of months. Depends on how long it takes for him to gain the weight and how I'm instructed to ween him off.

Yeah. He has to be weened off the tube (which I already knew), and I'll be flushing the thing for as long as it's in him, but he's motivated.
