Could it Be the Start of a Second Surge?

I told you the other day about a Bob Joyce article on HubPages that has just caught, for whatever reason, and surged, and then began to taper off over the weekend, dropping down to just 175 views or so in a day.
"Is it over, or will there be a second surge?" I wondered.
This morning looking at the updated stats the 1 day view count is over 1,000 again and seems to be rising.
So, it seems like a second surge is at least beginning. If it is a second surge, I wonder where that will take the total view count which right now stands at 6,949 with 6,607 of those just in the last 30 days and 4,679 in the last 7.
Onward and upward.

Who is Bob Joyce? And why the surge in traffic all of a sudden?
So far this month, my highest one-day stat on HP is 6 views. 
And it's a post about how to write shape poetry. My hub about MS Word keyboard shortcuts used to do well for a while but that changed. Wonder why. It is actually my best hub in terms of total views. It is a bit under 700k.
I've always wondered what it takes to have high traffic to hubs. I am not great at SEO and effectively using keywords. And I'm definitely not great at marketing.

@porwest We can write our best hubs but how do they get seen and read by more than just a few people?

@lovebuglena Building an audience. It's the only way. Of course, how you do that is a ten paged article in and of itself. lol

I can only assume part of it is because Bob Joyce just released a new album. I wrote the article back in June and it just kind of sat there until now, so I think that may be at least a part of what made it surge.
As for who Bob Joyce is, he's a small town pastor who sounds like Elvis when he sings, and even plays the same guitar Elvis did, shares mannerisms and other things about Elvis, and is awash in mystery as to where he came from etcetera that have a lot of people believing he is Elvis.
700,000 views is damn good. Not a single post I have ever written has accomplished that. Can you DM me a link to it? I'd like to read it.
As for "what it takes," I am old school. I believe in writing the best content you can for the sake of building an audience over SEO. In fact, I know very little about SEO. I just write what I want, do my best to write it well, and hope people enjoy it and that it succeeds because it was good over how well I "marketed" it.
