Why Political Posts Have a Place on My Lot in This Presidential Election

Most people would rather read a post about what someone had for dinner or what store they shopped at today. I get that. I hate the political "HIT PIECES" some post on here, designed to embarrass the politician, and have nothing of value to offer the reader. Unfortunately, political posts are usually divisive, receiving either pro or against comments about your views, facts and candidate. Most people are not swayed to change their minds, but there is a chance someone is "ON THE FENCE" and needs some additional information to make a decision. Especially if that information is being hidden or covered up by the "LIBERAL MAINSTREAM MEDIA." This is the reality we face today in our divided nation. Sometimes it becomes necessary to "TAKE YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE SAND" from the day-to-day stuff you enjoy posting or reading about, to learn some hidden facts about the candidates you're leaning towards or supporting. In a "Transformational Election" like this one, I believe knowing as much about the candidates as possible is "CRUCIAL" in seeing what direction our country is headed. I think sharing the information I have discovered is equally important, and "PROVIDES A SERVICE" for anyone who is still undecided on a candidate. And since one of the candidates will not do a serious interview with a reporter, or answer a direct question with specifics, one needs to delve deeper through "HER" past statements, ideology, and policies, to know what "SHE IS REALLY ABOUT." Being more informed provides the enlightenment one needs to say to yourself, "WOW, I did not know this about the candidate I'm supporting." Perhaps I should "PUT EMOTION ASIDE," reconsider, and do some further research before making such an important decision. "In my opinion" this country cannot afford to have another 4 years of higher prices, foreign wars, immigration chaos, violent crime, crazy ideology, education indoctrination and censorship. Because of these policy decisions made by this administration with the "FULL SUPPORT" of the Vice President, "in my view," our country is in danger of further decline. And now the Vice President wants a promotion to the highest office with no specific plan to turn things around except "DREAMS AND ASPIRATIONS." Of course, who you vote for is entirely up to you, but I find nothing wrong with explaining the facts about a candidate who I think will lead us, if she is elected, down a path of "SOCIALISM," the "ANTITHESIS of a DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC." It is in your "best interests" to be thoroughly informed when making such an important decision for yourself and our country. For those without enough time to do so, I believe the political information I provide to be helpful for these people, who can put emotion aside and use common sense, but might not be aware of what is being covered up and not reported by the liberal media/social sites. Those on My Lot who would rather be "APOLITICAL" in this most important political election for the future of our country, remember, "IN POLITICS, AS IN LIFE, YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW..." Hopefully, come November, with a safe, secure, and prosperous America for everyone again, I will no longer have to be writing political posts. Talking about favorite foods should be much less confrontational, lol.

At least your posts sound intelligent versus some other political posts.

Thank you. I'm just trying to give another viewpoint someone with an open mind can read and decide for themselves if it makes sense to them. The ones who have already closed their minds cannot be convinced and I'm well aware of that just from the responses they make. Trying to debate or argue back and forth is useless and I tell them so. My aim in writing these posts is to inform those who seek information. I provide as much factual detail as I can which they will not find on their nightly news. The media outlets have an agenda and cannot be objective.

The one thing I admire about your posts (and they are a breath of fresh air around here, honestly, when it comes to political posts) is that they are NOT the hit pieces you otherwise describe that are unfortunately ubiquitous around here—to top it all off, the one thing generally lacking from many of them is substance. Okay, you can tell me why you hate the guy, but you're not telling me what's wrong with his policies. Or, for that matter, what's right about HERS. Or beyond that, offer no explanation for her sudden turnaround, not only in terms of "popularity," but in terms of her PLATFORM. That's all besides the one glaring thing I find with her "new" campaign. It's as though Biden never happened, and Trump was in the White House for the past four years that created all these things we now need to fix, and the MEDIA isn't picking up on that and neither are the Harris supporters on myLot. Of course, I have LONG written about politics on here. It makes sense, I suppose, I am a conservative blogger OUTSIDE of myLot, so of course I would write about such topics INSIDE of myLot. But I try my best not to write hit pieces as well, and try to be as fair and balanced as I possibly can, and offer both sides of the argument. I don't always succeed, but the point is that I try. What I say (at least to my mind) comes from the heart, without so much of a political bias as a strong interest in what is right for America and in Her best interests. It just so happens that those things, for me, align with what conservatism offers over the alternative 99% of the time. I think what you say here are all things that need to be said and read, and I think the way you write them offers a perspective others don't, or refuse to, that is important to understand. myLot IS, of course, more suited to dinner posts. But these kinds of posts also serve a purpose and belong just as much as any other topic does. Keep writing them. I am enjoying them. If you ever want to guest post something on The Springboard, let me know. But I like what you have to say. I think my readers would enjoy it as well.

Thanks for your support and kind words Jim. I notice the ones who write those "hit pieces" are mostly quiet when factual points are presented, that they cannot mock or refute. It seems to me, those people are the least informed, but always have the loudest opinions, often flawed in any logic at all. Harris's campaign strategy seems to play on people's emotions, and those who despise Trump. Like Biden, she and the Democrats are hoping for massive anti-Trump personality turnout again. Hopefully, Trump can gain in Latinos, Black Men, Independents, and tap the many Evangelicals and Christians who for some reason stay home and don't vote. He needs to run up the numbers in rural areas too. Trying to understand the reasons for Kamala's appeal is astounding to me. She has shown no skills as a policy maker. The only ability Harris seems to offer is the ability to be a good memorizer of her talking points. Pressed on specifics on policy she has none. Yet so many voters cannot or will not see it!

@porwest Yes, a good analysis of Harris's inadequacy, inability to explain her plans, the media covering for her, and Kamala's ability to exploit Trump's unpopularity with many suburban women by portraying herself as a joyful not angry candidate. This effective smokescreen is what is making this election so close. I've noted from some of the responses (the usual crew) to my Kamala posts the disregard for the facts which are rarely disputed by them. Instead, they focus on Trumps bad character, seizing on silly comments he makes, his crude remarks, his name calling, and the witch hunt trials he is facing. Of course, they probably have no idea that 92% of the aides who initially worked for Kamala quit due to her abrasive and abusive personality. It's a shame we have half the country many non-information voters who can only be labeled as stupid, preferring a candidate who was raised by Marxist parents, and is more socialist than Bernie Sanders.

@dgobucks226 It's not just a thing to say, that most liberals cannot argue past what fits on a bumper sticker. It's true 99.9% of the time. They are good at talking points. Not arguments. "Raise wages!" Okay, HOW do we do that? What are the consequences? How do we determine what a fair wage is, based on balance sheets and a business' means to offer it? How does it impact inflation? DOES it impact inflation? Will some workers be displaced by it? Will it spur on more automation? How do we do it sensibly so that the end result is something that works for both the workers and the businesses who employ them? Crickets... Regarding Harris' campaign, it continues to boggle my mind. How can anyone even suggest they know what she's about when she speaks in riddles and even what she says NOW are her policies don't match what she said her policies were just a few months ago, and how can we trust her? Beyond that, and I know I have said this more than once, it's like Joe Biden never happened, according to her, and Trump was the guy in the White House these past 3 and a half years that caused what are now huge problems that need fixing. And the media is letting her get away with it, and so is the Democrat voter. The whole thing just makes no sense. I mean, there was a time when voters cared more about results than party affiliations. They sent Jimmy Carter packing even though he was a REALLY nice guy because he didn't get the job done. The nation wants to rehire Harris DESPITE all that's gone wrong? Maddening.

Thanks Gayle. I will say, it's a shame this country is so divided fueled by the mainstream media bias and lies in my opinion. And the ones whose political posts are just designed to rub it in on a politician's personal troubles or controversies are useless reading. It's just a way to hate on a politician they dislike (usually Trump). When you are small, minded person and have nothing factual or intelligent to say attack your opponent. Kamala does a good job at that.
